Legal Notice Notice is hereby given that the following Ordinance, numbered #O 6-2026 was passed on first reading by title only at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Common Council of Gloucester City held on February 9, 2026, thus ORDINANCE CREATING CHAPTER § 87, VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC, ARTICLE XV., TRAFFIC REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO CERTAIN AREAS, §87-73.3 GLOUCESTER CITY OWNED PARKING LOTS AT 512 AND 500 MONMOUTH STREET WHEREAS, this amendment is in the best interest of health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Gloucester City (“City”); and WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40:72-3, entitled, “General powers”, authorizes the City the power to pass ordinances for specific purposes, empowers all municipality to may make, amend, repeal and enforce ordinances for the following purposes: a. The protection of life, health and property; b. The declaration, prevention and summary abatement of nuisances; c. The preservation and enforcement of good government and the general welfare, order and security of the municipality; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gloucester City desire to amend the Code of the City of Gloucester City, specifically Chapter 87, entitled Vehicle and Traffic, by creating §87-73.3, entitled “Regulating Parking at City Owned Parking Lots at 512 and 500 Monmouth Street. NOW, THEREFORE, be it Ordained by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gloucester City, County of Camden and State of New Jersey as follows: SECTION 1 : The following No Parking area is added to Chapter 87, Vehicles and Traffic, Article XV, Traffic Regulations Applicable to Certain Areas: § 87-73.3 Gloucester City Owned Parking Lots The following parking restrictions shall apply to the Gloucester City Owned Municipal Parking Lots located at 512 and 500 Monmouth Street as follows: LOCATION RESTRICTION TIME 500 Monmouth Street City Visitor Parking Only Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 512 Monmouth Street City Employee Parking Only Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. SECTION 2 : All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. SECTION 3 : If the provisions of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance shall be judged invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order of judgment shall not affect or invalidate the remainder of any section, subsection, paragraph, subdivision, or clause of this Ordinance. SECTION 4 : This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication in accordance with law.
